About Us
The Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit corporation funded by lodging tax collected by the City of Fredericksburg and Gillespie County. The organization is governed by a 13-member board of directors representing the local hospitality industry and is headquartered at 302 East Austin Street. In addition to its marketing and sales activities, the Convention and Visitor Bureau also operates the Fredericksburg Visitor Information Center, located at the same address.
Mission Statement
The Mission of The Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau is to preserve, protect and promote Fredericksburg and Gillespie County destination offerings to enhance economic vitality and quality of place.
This mission is accomplished by passionate people working in partnership to create and market an overnight destination where visitors can experience the richness of our cultural, natural and culinary offerings, as well as the diversity and quality of our retail, entertainment and accommodations mix.
Investment by the City of Fredericksburg and Gillespie County of the lodging occupancy tax collected from visitors into the marketing efforts of the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau provides the funding mechanism to accomplish the mission.
